This feature has been developed from something I originally intended to be for my own use, but I thought it might be of some use to others. It's function is to find which 47's were allocated to a particular depot within a given period of time. Some notes on how to use the search are given below.
Select the start and end dates of the period you want to search. The starting month begins on the 1st day of the month, the end month ends on the last day of the month. Therefore both dates may, and should, be the same to search just one particular month. If no dates are selected then the current month is assumed.
The depot to be searched for can be a TOPS depot code, or the earlier shed code - but only one or the other. TOPS depot codes came into use in May 1973 so there is no point in searching for a TOPS code before then, or a pre-TOPS code afterwards.
'Any' may be selected in place of a depot code; this will result in a list of all locos that were allocated to any depot during the time period. If any loco was allocated to more than one depot during the period then it will be listed for each allocation.
If a loco was renumbered during the period being searched, it will appear under the old and new numbers.
The search may be refined by using the number filter to define which 47's should be reported. An asterisk (*) may be used as a 'wildcard', for example: 477* to report only 47/7's, D18*, 47*1, 474*4 etc.
There may be some anomolies due to errors or omissions in the database, but these will be ironed out in time.
Example: [ Start date: May 1993 / End date: Jun 1993 / TOPS Depot: TI / Number filter: 473* ] will search for all 47/3's allocated to Tinsley at any time between 1/5/93 and 30/6/93.
Be warned - the search is not the fastest thing in the cosmos and searches can take quite a while, especially when using the 'All' depot feature, or a large time period.
